Once upon a time, in 2005, a young Russian-American dyevushka sets off to Moscow to reconnect with her homeland. She finds instead a magically unreal land of witches, bears, and very high heels. But, as in any good fairy tale, the smart young heroine finds friends to help her along the way. Together they battle a basket of fighting potatoes, an oven that’s just the right size for a girl, and many older people trying to do them harm, as they try to find an apartment (and a grown-up life) that fits just right.

Nobody Bunny in the Golden Age of Animation by Eli Keel
directed by Gil Reyes

Baron’s Theater, 131 W. Main St.

March 2, 3, 5, 9, 10 at 8:00 p.m.
March 11 at 2:00 p.m.

Charlie is the animator behind the era’s most popular cartoon characters. The only problem is that nobody knows who he is. In his search for fame, Charlie embraces his story, finds his tribe, and learns to stand on his own hind legs. Oh yeah, and there’s an ancient trickster rabbit god following him around and … helping?

Full of dirty jokes, crass humor, and mature themes this dark comedy shines a light on what it means to be a loner who needs people.
